Featured Finds & New Businesses

First up, a quick PSA on some national chains ~~since ~~I’ve been seeing this question absolutely everywhere. It has officially been confirmed that a Chipotle, Jersey Mike’s, and a Nothing Bundt Cakes will be going into the new construction building in the At Home parking lot. While they won't be listed on the Guide (we're all about keeping it local!), I wanted to make sure my A-List knows exactly what's going on around town.

But honestly, who cares about the big chains when we had two amazing LOCAL businesses open up downtown this week?

• 🥂 House of Brunch Now Open: They are officially serving up an elevated brunch experience downtown, and they were gracious enough to host me for their media preview and soft opening. I got to try a little of everything, and let me tell you, it is wonderful! This is the ultimate special-occasion spot for when you want something a bit more elevated than the classic bacon and eggs brunch. They have an affordable yet elegant caviar service, unique specialty dishes, and a gorgeous, vibrant, lively atmosphere. They did a stunning job transforming the space, and I think it's a fantastic addition for both locals and tourists.
• 🌸 Woops! Bakeshop Gets a Fresh Look: Just a block up, Woops! Bakeshop got a new name and a new owner this week! It is now Florette, a charming European-inspired cafe. They’ll still be serving the same coffee, pastries, and macarons you already love, while adding some delicious new options to the mix. Go pop in and say hi!

Local Eats & Summer Vibes

• 🚚 NIC Culinary Food Truck: If you didn't know, the NIC culinary food truck serves a rotating, student-made menu each week right down on the NIC campus by the lake. They are open Wednesdays and Thursdays for lunch only. You can find their weekly menu and hours here.
• 🌅 Sunday Brunch at Tony's: Tony’s on the Lake is offering a special Sunday brunch this summer from 11 AM to 2 PM. Just make sure to plan ahead, reservations are required!
